You want to make one of your category a default category, then follow the following steps:
Step 1: Login to WordPress
First of all, login to your WordPress website with your username and password.
Step 2:
Navigate to Posts -> Categories.
Step 3: Add New Category
Create your new categories by filing the required field. The add new categories image is shown below. After you finished, click “Add New Category” button.
Your new category is created. Now, it is the time to make your new category a default category.
Step 4: Select Writing
Now to your Setting and select writing from there. The image is shown below for you to understand better.
Step 5: Choose Default Post Category
Here, you need to choose your default post category from “Uncategorized” to your newly created category.
Step 6: Save changes
Click the button save to make a changes in your website.
