A Localhost server is commonly used by developers to test their web application before launching to a live server. A developer must need to install IIS(Internet Information Service) to enable a Localhost server.
The steps below show how can you enable your Localhost IIS Server.
Step 1: Open Control Panel
Click on the Window Start button and select “Control Panel” or type “Control Panel” in your window search text field and select “Control Panel“.
Step 2: Open “Programs”
Click the program link from the list of options available.
Step 3: Turn Windows Features on or off
Navigate to the left side of the windows and select the “Turn Windows Features on or off” link. We will see a new box with the list of programs available in your system.
Step 4: Enable IIS
Check the box labeled “Internet Information Service” and press OK. The IIS service will be installed in your system.
Step 5: Open Localhost
Finally, you can reboot your system and open your favorite browser, and type “localhost”. Your Explorer default page opens for IIS.
