Plugin ‘Android WiFi ADB’ is compatible with IntelliJ IDEA only because it doesn’t define any explicit module dependencies

When you try to install the plugin “Android WiFi ADB”. You might face the above plugin error message.

This error could be created by two reasons:

  1. Some older plugins are incompatible with your latest Android Studio or
  2. The location of the plugin folder are changed with the latest Android Studio.

Plugin Location:

Currently, the plugins are located in the following directories:

Windows: Ctrl + L in the explorer and go to

C:\Users\User\AppData\Roaming\Google\AndroidStudio2020.3\plugins

By default, AppData is hidden.

Open Hidden items:

To see the hidden AppData, you need to click on “View” tab and check hidden items. You will able to see AppData.

Delete Plugins:

Go to this location in Windows:

C:\Users\User\AppData\Roaming\Google\AndroidStudio2020.3\plugins \AndroidWiFiADB and delete the folder.

Move Plugins to Program Files

Copy the AndroidWiFiADB from the below location and paste into Program Files directory .

Copy location:

C:\Users\User\AppData\Roaming\Google\AndroidStudio2020.3\plugins

Paste Location:

C:\Program Files\Android\Android Studio\plugins

Restart your Android Studio.
